ALAN READE AND JOHN ASHFIELD
double cd release party, 03.30.02, amnesia, mission district, san francisco
All pictures by Phil Locke.
The crowd began to gather--looking suspiciously like "Lone Star, Mission District."
Larry-bob, of Holy Titclamps fame, emceed. Isn't his bowtie perfect?
pointfivefag and g-minus of the homohop innovators Deep Dickollective opened the show to much applause and acclaim.
Alan and John and the Bobbleheads took to the stage with Alan's song "Movie Star."
"Eeeeveryone is a movie star!" That's Aaron on lead guitar right behind Alan.
John and band rocked the crowd with his rendition of "Why Not Smile."
Alan's spoken (spookin'?)-word piece "Christmas Eve, Salinas." That's Yuko on keyboards behind John.
Alan and Jose rocking out to John's new tune "Now and Then." Unfortunately, you can't see Phil drumming away behind these two.
John and Alan went "almost unplugged" for an anthemic rendition of "super_human" from Alan's album.
"Oh yeah!" Get your lighters out!
The band closed the show with John's song "Bedazzler."
"Down, she's never down!"
Alan in faux fur.
